Invasion from Outer Space!

The late Otto Binder, who wrote many of the best-remembered Marvel Family comic book stories of the 1940s and 1950s, later went on to write UFO books. I've been curious just how far back his interest in flying saucers went, so I started searching the Grand Comics Database to find the oldest flying saucer stories he wrote. This one is so old, the aliens don't even arrive in a saucer, they arrive in a rocket! Much of the action seems inspired by the War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, but those cyclops aliens were clearly stolen from the Simpsons!
Yes, I know Kang is from about 40 years later but perhaps Binder or artist CC Beck had access to alien time-travelling technology! Which allowed them to travel forward in time and watch the Simpsons! And then they murdered a bunch of bigfoot! You can see it in the photographs! (That's a cryptozoology in-joke, sorry.)

Here from Captain Marvel Adventures #65, cover-dated September 1946, comes The Invasion from Outer Space! written by Otto Binder and drawn by CC Beck!

Gee, I never would have guessed Sivana would be behind it.

NEXT: Back to "reality!"
